A website Maintenance Retainer allows me to inexpensively do for you some routine updating & maintenance tasks on your Joomla site that will help keep your site fresh and trouble free. These are tasks you can learn to do yourself, but may be too busy for, at least when the site is new.
Of course, you must still provide the raw materials (pictures, articles, videos, event lists, etc.) for the updating. But you won't have to actually enter the materials on the website, trying to remember steps you only take every other month at best!
As I've structured it, the Maintenance Retainer covers:
- Monthly backups & checkups of your entire Joomla site
- Entering & updating as needed: news articles & associated photos , packaging events, web links, PDF downloads (including creating PDF files from supplied sources)
- Creating photo galleries (including re-sizing the images)
- Formatting special photos for the Front Page Slide Show
- Placing YouTube and pre-encoded videos on the site
- Placing pre-encoded audio (mp3) files on the site
- General troubleshooting of any content entries you've made to the site
- Ongoing instruction & phone support for staff & volunteers
- Adding & modifying email accounts on the hosting service
- Updating Joomla system & current extensions (e.g. packaging component, download component, etc.) as updates are available
Exclusions: Some tasks are so time intensive they can't reasonably be called maintenance, such as:
- Adding new functionality to the site: blogs | special forms | additional calendars | forum boards
- Creating & applying a new site template (changing the overall look of the site)
- Video editing or encoding videos as mp4 files
- Audio editing and encoding as mp3 files
Site maintenance requests not covered by a Maintenance Retainer will be billed @ $60/hour calculated in ½ hour increments.
A Maintenance Retainer is inexpensive! Try it for 6 months or a year and renew as desired.
