Mobile Storage Carts
Few settings bring less joy to a sound technician than facing stacks of amps, snarling cable, stolid speakers and irritable mic stands (always sticking their feet out!), knowing they must all be packed away carefully for the next weekend’s use. Though grandma’s littany of “A place for everything and everything in its place” may seem out-of-place in a church plant, when working with A/V equipment it’s just the ticket!
Mobile storage carts with easy-rolling,non-marking urethane wheels & clever, efficient use of space are the answer to the portable church's storage needs. We have working models designed by Colin Marsh (complete plans available) for four different storage carts; two for sound system equipment, one for children’s ministry supplies and one for hospitality supplies (see drawings below).
Measuring just 2'(W)x5'(L)x4'(H), each of these carts will easily roll through standard-width doorways. But in their compact design & high-density packing, the carts provide room for all the sound equipment & children's ministry storage needs of the typical church plant. Now it can actually be fun to tear down after services! Each cable, mic, speaker and accessory has its own place and can be easily tucked away ready for the next setup.
And come next Sunday, there's no long search for the cables someone else put away last week! They're in the same place on the same cart. These mobile storage carts make setup and tear-down - well, if not a piece of cake - at least well on the way to the dessert table.
There are a couple of ways to get these carts for your church:
- You purchase only the working drawings from us. The drawings include alternate structures for different storage arrangements, complete materials list, cut list (for plywood) and a list of suppliers for specialty items like urethane wheels. If the church plant has some folks who are handy with tools, this may be a lower-cost option.
